Four

My little man. You are four!! I cant believe how much you have developed this year. You have a great sense of humour; you like to play the clown and make people laugh. You have really grown into a proper little boy. You have become much more confident and outgoing. Your best friend is still, of course, Henry. You guys are hilarious. You do everything together and constantly cracking each other up. You also love to play with Simone and more recently with Liam too. I'm so sad that this is your last year of pre-school but equally excited for you to be joining your sister at "big school". Ana can't wait to show you the ropes. You'll be in great hands with her. She is such a loving and kind big sister, even when you wind her up (which happens a lot).

I cant tell you how much joy you bring to our family Z. Even though you are wild and stubborn, and have us tearing our hair out most days you are also the happiest, sweetest, most loving little guy. You love to sit with one (or all) of us and watch TV. You always wrap your little arm around us and play with our hair. You get especially excited when the four of us sit together, pointing out each one of us by name: "Mum is here. Dad is here. Ana is here. Isaac is here. Yayyy"  Of course we can't forget your fur brother. You have a really special relationship with Briscoe. You like to get down on the ground and play with him and you are always hugging him. I can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can all get outside and play. You love chasing Briscoe around the garden!

Your current obsession is with the Gummy Bear. Oh man so you love that song! You also know the entire song and dance moves by heart. This doesn't always go over so well at school as it involves shaking your butt (your favorite part), but we laugh and laugh and dance like fools.We even took the song into your school to share with the other kids (the teachers loved that I'm sure). I've been really fortunate to come in and spend some time with your class during circle time. I love seeing you interact with your buddies and I love seeing how happy and proud it makes you to have me there. I wish I could stay all day!

I'm looking forward to all the wonderful things this year will bring. It is bittersweet to see you grow up because as much as I want you to remain my baby, we can do so many more things together these days. I see lots of trips and fun times at the beach in our future this summer! I cant wait to make more happy memories with you and just soak up all your love and energy and laughter. Know that you are loved more than you could ever imagine and that nothing makes me happier than being your Mom.

Swim Champs

Ana's first regional championships were this weekend. The kids swam in seeded heats, based upon previously recorded times, so she didn't actually "win" anything overall, but she did well in her heats. First event, she swam the first leg of the IM relay, getting the team off to a strong start which they held for the win! Next she was up in the 50m freestyle. She had a strong start but faded toward the end and was pipped at the post. She was so disappointed, but she swam out of her skin in this race, taking 6 sec of her previous best time!! So proud of her. Finally she was third in the 25m backstroke. Another big disappointment for her as backstroke is her best event, and because her friend Diane won the event. She'll be back stronger than ever next year though. So proud of everything she has accomplished this swim season and so happy for her to have made a bunch of new friends.
