Words of Isaac

Isaac is now speaking in full sentences!  He is able to say things like "I need help" or "I do it". It helps that he can now tell us exactly what he wants like "warm milk" instead of screeching and pointing at the bottle! The other day we died laughing because Ana was calling him a fool, and he spun around and said "I'm not a fool! You're a fool". He cracks us up!!

Christmas in England

This year Ana and I were very excited to spend our Christmas day in England with Nana, Grandad and the Bears. It was hard saying bye to Dad and Isaac ....Ana didn't stop crying for her Dad until we were already in the air on the first leg of our journey :( but once she cheered up we were excited to be on our way. After a layover in Philly (where we were having so much fun that we almost missed the flight!!). On board we actually managed to get some decent sleep on the flight so we landed in England semi-refreshed. Mia was at a school trip so we waiting in some freezing rain for her to get back. It was well worth it to see the happy cousins reunited! :)

Right away much fun was had by all when Grandad and his two lovely assistants wowed their audience with a magic box trick or two.  The next day it was time to dress up.  Pirates. Arrrrgggg!!
Sharing the ipad didn't always go well

Unfortunately a round of vomiting ripped through the house, and none of us were very well for Christmas eve, but that didn't stop us getting excited and putting out cookies, milk, and carrots for the reindeers! It was a little hard to tell who was more excited..... Ana and Mia or Jazz and Mel!  Christmas morning arrived and guess what.....HE'D BEEN!!!!

Following a fine meal, Christmas day hilarity ensued with games of Black Magic, Bunny Bunny, and a face swap app. I don't know that I have EVER laughed as hard as when we swapped my Mum and Dad's faces!!  We were crying laughing!!

All that wrestling wore Grandad out! Just kidding... it was the booze :)
A few more days of fun and it was time for us to head home. We were gutted to leave, although being back with James and Isaac was nice. Isaac was over the moon and kept checking and double checking everyone was accounted for by running from one to the next and saying "Mama", "Dada", "Ana" and then proudly pointing at himself and saying "Isaac - yayyyyy"  Cute little boy.

On New Years Eve we had planned a fun trip to Connecticut to see the Cooney side of the family, but unfortunately James got struck with the tummy bug and has to pass. But Ana and I went and had a blast!! Watching Ana dance off against Luke has to be one of the funniest things ever. I'll have to see if I can get the video off my phone to upload.

Overheard this week

Ana: "I don't want to do my chores. I hate chores"
Me: "Just do them, no-one likes doing chores"
Ana: "Oh yeah? How about Nana?"

Isaac's Progress Report

What an amazing little man :)

"Isaac is very aware of others' feelings. If he sees another child crying he often will go and put his arm around them, or just a hand on their shoulder. He also returns a toy to a child if he knows they were playing with it. Great social awareness!!"
"Everyone loves to play with Isaac. He makes everyone laugh and can play with the oldest toddlers to the youngest. Wonderful social skills - such a happy little guy.  His physical and cognitive development is right on target also for his age. He is such a delight to have in our toddler room"
