The play date!

I didn't get many pics because the girls were on the move the whole time!! They had lots of fun! We also went over to the college and walked on the quad and played basketball in the gym. We'll definitely do it again soon.

Is she here yet? Is she here yet? Is she here yet?

So much Playdoh!

Ana and Lauren make a plan!

I do believe Ana has just arranged her first play date. Her best friend from school is Lauren. Ana put the full court press on me as soon as I picked her up from school yesterday...

"Mum, can I go to McDonalds and play with Lauren? Pleeeeease? And can Lauren come to my house for a sleepover?"

She said this over and over. I told her "not tonight", but we would try to meet up with Lauren over the weekend.

Then I got a voicemail from Lauren's Mum. Apparently Lauren had left school yesterday begging and pleading to go to McDonalds and meet Ana. She was convinced that Ana was waiting at McDonalds for her and that she would be spending the night at our house.

I am just cracking up imagining them hatching this plan together.

So anyway, Lauren is coming over to play tomorrow. The girls are very excited!

Overheard at our house this week

1. Ana: "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I now present ....... my toot (pfffft)

2. Jazz is talking to Briscoe while slicing cheese for Ana in the kitchen....

Jazz: "Oh Lord, I can't imagine how that smells to a dog's nose"
James: "Yeah, he can smell cheese from a mile off"
Jazz: "I was talking about my fart"
James: "This is where Ana gets it from!"

I treat you well

You know, I treat you well. Really well, actually. I exercise you almost every day. You run, you swim, you bike. You travel to far off places. I keep you clean. I give you plenty of rest. I educated you very well. I feed you good, healthy food. No junk food. No pop. No sugary cereal. Oh no, we eat cereal with things like flax and birdseed in it. I know we had a rough few years, where I abused you with alcohol and I knocked your head around a lot playing rugby. I apologize for that. But seriously, why have you turned on me? Why???

It started a couple of years ago with the grey hairs. I let that slide, I just covered them up. No harm, no foul. But you didn’t quit. I really started to question you when you brought in the glasses. Near sighted? Seriously?

So I thought those were your big guns. Apparently not. For well over a year now you have managed to not be able to do what drunk high school girls and Walmart mouth-breathers the world over can do. Look, even Barbie can do it!

Is it because I complained so much last time? Are you still sulking over morning (all-day) sickness? Why are you so pissed off?

Well, tired of your games, I marched you in to see to an expert. Ha! Take that! Guess what she told me? That you are being even less co-operative than I thought!! You shut down the left tube entirely. And you are tilted. And your left ovary is stuck behind you. So, you actually look more like this. You little dipshit!

Oh, and you are attacking yourself. Yes, that is right. You’re a masochist. It appears you think your own thyroid is a foreign invader that must be destroyed at all costs. Really? Seriously? You actually went for the throat? Oh you bitter little bastard. You know we need our thyroid right? Ok, just checking. Maybe this explains my constant headaches, fatigue, frizzy hair, and the fact that even though I train you like this….

You are dead set on me looking like this…..

Oh it is ON like Donkey Kong my friend! You have crossed the line BIG time!!

Heed this, and heed it well. You have one more chance to co-operate. One. I’m serious. If you don’t step your spunky self back into line this month I’m going to do this to you…

Oh hell’s yes I am!! Try me. Here are three letters that should put the fear of GOD in you…. I.….V…..F….

Don’t come crying to me when we look like this (only whiter). You have been warned!

Sincerely,
Your owner.

Snow

A post from Daddy!

We received a great deal of snow in very short order on Friday. Within an hour we went from no snow to 2 inches. This was taken at 4 pm, 2 hours after the snow started.

Ana initially did not want to go in the snow but after some cajoling and promises of chocolate ice cream, I convinced her. At first she wouldn't put on a jacket or pants but a minute outside convinced her otherwise. She was pretty fond of the flavor and enjoyed hitting Brisco with the white fluff.

The next day I convinced her to go out and make a snow man with me. She threw some snow in a pile and went inside, then sat on the porch and watched. After I completed the snow man, replete with jelly beans for buttons, a carrot nose, two buttons for eyes, and a bead necklace for a mouth, I had to promise her more ice cream in order to get her to pose for a picture.

Food coughs

Poor Ana has a bout of viral gastroenteritis. She woke up vomiting at 2am, then after we bathed her and washed her hair she vomited again, and again, and 9 times total until 10am. Poor baby! She was so brave, and towards the end didn't even say anything, just got up and walked off to throw up herself. She didn't understand what was happening so she kept telling us "there is food coming out of my mouth". When she was about to puke she said "I'm going to food cough again".

She has been a lot better this afternoon, so we hope the food coughs have now left us!
