More Ana-isms

This kid is on a roll lately:

"I AM THE KING WHALE, YOU WILL DO AS I SAY" (yelled loudly, in public)

Ana: (cocking her head and listening intently) "Do you hear something funny?"
Me: "no"
Ana: "I hear laughing spiders*, ha ha  ha ha, they are so funny, ha ha ha ha. They are coming to bite my crack butt, ha ha ha."  She genuinely cracks up at this and goes into fits of giggles.

*can also be laughing alligators or laughing dragons, same scenario.

She is also very sneaky. A couple of examples....

Ana: Can I have some chips?
Me: No
Pause while Ana digs chips out of the pantry
Ana:  "Can you open this bag and see what is inside please?"

Ana: Can I watch TV?
Me: "Not right now"
Pause
Ana: "Can I put the TV on for you?"
Me: Time for the bath
Ana: You already gave me a bath today
Me: No I didn't
Ana: "I love you" (sneaking up onto my lap) "let's sit here and cuddle"
Me: Nice try, get in the bath
Ana: I need to go poo poo

And to give you an example of the non-stop talking we hear, I just asked her to tell me a story and I transcribed everything she said:

"Once upon a time there was Diego and Bear, and two little pigs and a giant dwarf and he huffed and he hucked and he hucked and he ran away until the next time and he went to bed and went back to the symphony where he belonged, and that is why it gets hot in the bath, and the froggy and he hucked and he hucked and he hucked and he ran away home and the popcorn was hanging, cos the wolf goes by carrying a basket so I drink my stuff and that is why you drink your cup. Cos that is why the popcorn watches the movie cos the wolf goes by and he hucks and he hucks and he ran away home and he watched the people. The goldilocks saved the piggies and then we start to go back to his own house and the piggies saved the king. And he is a funny guy, and he pee pees, ewwww gross, stinky stinky, he pees in the toilet like me. De Nada."

All in one breath! And when ever she said "hucked" she clearly meant huffed because she stood up and put her hands on her hips in a huffing stance!

Sleep!!!!

This is how Ana puts me to sleep. Very nice!

Conversations with Ana

I'm in Seattle for work this week (best city ever) so I have been having lots of phone conversations with Ana. A minute ago she just said "You're my girl, right Mama?" Awwww!

She also says the funniest things. I really need to start transcribing our conversations. Today she was at the park with Briscoe...

"Brisoce don't go on slides, right Mama? He has paws, right Mama? He can't slide because he doesn't have toes. He only has paws."

I asked her if she was going to come and pick me up from the airport on Saturday:

"I can't pick you up Mama, I'm only little. I'm little like a baby. I can't carry you Mama!"

Crap Day Out

My Mother's day was a wash out due to James' eye incident, so we decided to have a do-over this weekend. FAIL.

We went to Stone Mountain park. You know, that idyllic place of pride and hate, that enduring symbol of racism and white supremecy. Yeah that place.

Anyway, I have never been before, but for some reason (misleading website) I expected great things and purchased an annual pass!!  Ughhh.

It took us forever and a day to get out of the house, so I was irritated! We travelled there in frosty travel-stress induced slience. Then we got lost. Then we finally got there and it started to rain.....and never stopped.  We sloshed around some tacky souvenir shops, waited in line for 30 min to see a 4D movie that scared Ana so much she begged to leave after approximately 2 minutes.  So we headed to an indoor play area that looked like a blast. At last, somewhere dry with plenty of fun kid things to do - slides, trampolines, climbing nets....how about a really LOUD noise machine that scared Ana to death so she would not do anything other than cover her ears and cling to us?  Yep. They had one of those too. Fabulous.

So we decided to take the train around the mountain (which Ana was excited about) and leave. We missed not one but TWO bloody trains before we finally climbed aboard.

Ana was excited!!
Despite the wet seats Daddy was smiling too!

And then the train pulled off and Ana fell asleep!  The only thing she wanted to do all day, and Zzzzzz!!!

To be fair, Stone Mountain has some really cool recreation opportunities, so I'm sure we'll be back to hike, bike, and swim. Just not to the tourist extravaganza again!!

"Stop putting cheese in your front bum"

"Stop licking the floor"

"Don't hit me with that banana"

"Great poo!!  Now let me wipe your butt"

Girls day out

James was home nursing an eye injury today, so Ana and I had a girls day out for Mother's Day!

A smiley Ana - the best Mother's Day gift in the world!

Pondering!

Making friends with a squirrel...

...and some bunnies.

Looking at something very high!

Poor Daddy!

Statements of the day...

To James: Daddy, you have only one eye!

To Me: I love you being my Mummy.  Awwww!
