Sharing!

Ana's latest thing is to hand me stuff. It is adorable!

She has been feeding me her cheerios this morning. She'll pick one up and eat it herself - then pick another up and reach it towards me. She looks all pleased with herself when I take it and eat it!

She also scoots over to me with a toy in her hand and gives it to me. Then usually changes her mind and take it back :)

She is sooooooooooooooo cute at this age. I love it!!

New Sounds

Ana has been making some cool sounds - but I cannot manage to catch her doing it on camera!! She puts the back of her hand over her mouth and makes a sound which is really funny. She did it at the supermarket for 45 min straight the other night.

Ringleader!!

So on Friday I discovered that Ana is the ringleader among the babies at daycare. Apparently she tries to escape every time the door is opened and now all the babies are at it! She also 'runs' away from her teachers like she does to us when she knows she is up to mischief. She's figured out how to get into all the drawers and cupboards - even though they are baby proofed - and she pushes her little chair over to the counter than climbs on it and tries to reach up to where the food is kept. Ha ha!

At least it's not just me who can't keep her under control!

Ana's hair is getting too long again, so I am putting it in a clip. She looks like such a little girl!


She's fighting a double ear infection at the moment. This is her 7th so it might be time to think about ear tubes for her! She's been really good though (as usual) and not made much of a fuss.

My goal

Ok...so this isn't really about Ana (not directly anyway) but I am posting my goal on here to make sure I stick to it! My aim is that on Aug 11th (Ana's birthday) I want to weigh 140lb - which will mean that I am 50lb (3.5 stone) lighter than I was on that date last year!! And 20lb (1.5 stone) lighter than I was before I got pregnant :) I have 7lb to go and 8 weeks to do it!

To facilitate this goal I am going to start training to run a 10k, and James and I are going to train together to complete a sprint triathlon. We have a triathlon in mind for Oct 7th. The biggest barrier for this is finding the time to train (for James - not me I get to do it at work!) and training during the summer heat. I'm also worried about being able to swim in cold water. The lake temp at that time of year will be about 70 - brrrrrrrrr! We shall see!

San Diego - Part 3

Well, Ana finally figured out that sand is not evil and now she loves it!


Yesterday we went to Sea World, where Ana got up close and personal with a dolphin.
Unfortunately, mummy got her too close and she got a bit scared!


This morning we had brunch on the bay front, which was lovely. James and Ana were headed to the aquarium this afternoon but Ana has come down with quite a bad cold :( Probably something she picked up on the airplane!

San Diego - Part 2

Well, Ana woke up on East Coast time (i.e. 4am here) so it is only 9am and we've already got a lot done! We walked to Starbucks, came back along the beach, then went to play on the bay. For some reason Ana does not like sand :( so now we are back at the hotel. I'm off to work for the rest of the day so Daddy and Ana are going sightseeing!

San Diego - part 1

We arrived in San Diego yesterday and we LOVE it! We are staying at an amazing hotel, with the ocean on one side of us and the bay on the other. We took a walk along the beach and investigated the area a bit. Ana was wonderful (as always) on the flight. She slept for a lot of it and barely made a peep the rest of the time (unlike the screaming child behind us - grrrrr).

Yesterday was Ana's first swim in a pool. Unfortunately she wasn't too thrilled with it so we didn't stay in long. I think it was a bit cold, and she got splashed by some crazy kids so she was a bit scared. She looked cute in her little swimsuit though....which is obviously the most important thing ;-)

Climbing stairs

Boy are we in trouble now.....Ana can climb an entire flight of stairs in under a minute. We can't find baby gates that fit yet :(

Me stopping her going up stairs has become a game for her!! She runs off and tries to escape me!!





For some reason she actually listens to James when he does it though!!

So we were feeding Ana some peas because she makes this really cute face when she eats peas, and we happened to capture her first clap! Yay!



We went shopping today and then out for dinner, and Ana honestly laughed for about 6 straight hours. She was so happy and charmed everyone who saw her. We are amazingly lucky to have her in our lives. We just enjoy her more and more everyday.
