Isaac just stuck Ana's Furby in a box and closed the lid and yelled "Shut UP, Owl". And the Furby replied "Oh no you didn't". Hahahahaha

Funny Quotes From Ana
Ana: "I'm turning on all the fans in the house." "Why?" I ask. "Because I heard you say the brownies need to cool."
Ana: "I want to quit my singing lessons." "Why?" mom asks. "Because, HELLO! Lessons are for people who don't know how to sing. I'm already an amazing singer." Dad turns to Mom "You know, she get's this from you"
"Dad....Get me a bowl of cereal, STAFF"
"Kid, if you are going to be overbearing and demanding you should get it right. The word is STAT"
...Pause.... "Ok, get me a bowl of cereal, STAT"

A Discussion on Loving our Children and Marriage
Read this quote about children, it's so powerful. I just got the wind knocked out of me reading it...
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams

Then Almitra spoke again and said, "And what of Marriage, master?"
And he answered saying:
You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when white wings of death scatter your days.
Aye, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.
Love one another but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together, yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.
And he answered saying:
You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when white wings of death scatter your days.
Aye, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,

Hiding
So I asked him, while pulling laundry from the dryer, to go put the hand towels in the kitchen. I return to find this. He said he was hiding, along with the spilled juice all over the freshly cleaned towels and blanket. Ah, boys . . .

July
I just love, love, love New England in the summer. Sure, there is a good amount of humidity and mosquitos, but for the most part the weather is great. I work a lot so I always make a deliberate attempt to relax and spend as much time as possible with the kids.
Early in July we hit Spec Pond for the 4th July weekend holiday. Isaac initially didn't like the water, but he eventually got brave enough to put his feet in there!
The second of July Ana was in China Camp, where she learned some kung fu moves and many Chinese words. Her pronunciation was incredible! Kids really are little sponges!
After a long wait, Ana lost her first tooth on July 18th. Then only three days later, while we were at the Cape, the second one came out!! Ana had waited a looong time to lose this tooth. She was the last kid in her class to lose one.
Finally we took a fabulous family holiday to Cape Cod. Since we moved to Mass we figured out that everyone, and I mean everyone, goes to the Cape in the summer, however we had yet to make the journey. Mostly because I have heard horror stories about the traffic on and off the Cape, and also because we really had no idea where to go. Well it turned out that I needed to make a trip to Falmouth for work, so that solved that problem. We found a nearby camp ground and off we went.....
The day at Old Silver Beach had to be the highlight for me. The beach was beautiful, the water was clear and surprisingly warm, and the ocean stayed shallow way out so we could do lots of splashing and swimming. Unfortunately it was way too hot for Isaac. He was cranky and not impressed so James took him for a drive to cool off. This left Ana and I to have a ton of fun exfoliating each other with sand in our "salon" and catchin hermit crabs (there were SO many!). After a while James and Isaac came back and we drove to a small place called Woods Hole for a nice lunch, then we went to a dog friendly beach where Briscoe could splash around and make some friends. The sun had gone down a little so Isaac also got to paddle and have fun at this beach. We ended our day with a hike on The Knob (snicker). The Knob has amazing views and was well worth the trek, but the hike got a little too much for Isaac. Sadly it was soon time to end our short excursion and head home. We left on Monday which meant we really dodged a bullt because I heard from a local that the traffic jam to leave on Sunday night tailed back nearly 20 miles!! Man, that would have really ruined our trip! Right as we were leaving Ana suddenly remembered that she had left her three doggies on a rock on the beach. We raced back and they were nowhere to be seen :( The tide had come in and was now covering the rock where she left them. After much searching and many tears we gave up and as we were turning to leave, I spotted them safely perched out of reach of the water. Some kind soul must have seen them about to get swept away and moved them. So sweet. Whoever our mystery Good Samaritan was they made a little girl's day!
