First look

Here he is :)

Not as big as predicted (yet). Currently estimated at 7lb 14oz. Although these things are notoriously unreliable so who knows! Good news I guess, except that now I don't get an induction date!

Apparently I'm very favorable though. 2-3cm dilated and very low. So we wait :)

Cute!

Bye Bye ankles. Nice knowing ya!

This happened with Ana, but I put it down to the heat and humidity of August in GA. Well there is definitely no heat or humidity here, so I guess it's just pregnancy!

LOVE her

The other day I forgot to send Ana's snow pants to school with her (one of the many things I never worried about in GA). Kids can't play outside without their snow pants, and I knew Ana would be beside herself if she wasn't allowed outside for play time, so I drove over to her school at lunch time. She didn't know I was coming so I snuck up on her in the lunch room. She was so cute sitting with her little packed lunch and all her friends. She was a bit shocked to see me so was fairly quiet (for her) while I was there but on the way home she told me:

"Mom, when you came to my school today I was so happy to see you I thought my heart was bleeding".

What a sweet girl!

Um, for real, get OUT

Midwife appointment today. Guess which little love chunk is already 9lbs? Yayyy!

Ultrasound next week to confirm size. Might be induced at 39 weeks (presumably to prevent giving birth to a toddler size baby!)

BP: 104/70.
Dilated 1cm.
Weight: Unmentionable. Heaviest I've even been in my life, including the day I delivered Ana!
Fingers and toes: Sausages and cocktail sausages
Ankles: Non-existant

37 weeks - Getoutgetoutgetout!

Ok, I don't really want him to get out just yet, but I am more uncomfortable that I thought possible. I actually feel like my belly skin is about to rip by the end of the day. I'm also well and truly OVER slogging my way thorough the snow, loading Ana in and out of the car, not being able to sleep comfortably, etc. Even James said this week "I want my wife back" :(

Playing with Ana pretty much consists of me sitting in my rocker and her playing around me, covering me in dolls and stuffed animals. She is being very understanding (usually). It's pretty entertaining actually. I have a front row seat to some of the best shows in town.

The other day I got to see her naked, but for a pair of rolled up leggings, blowing a recorder, shaking a maraca and dancing to "Had a Bad Day". I told her she looked pretty but she corrected me... "No Mom, I look fashionable!!"

Next she got her mini princesses out and put them in hospital beds (in shoes actually, but this was improv). I asked what was wrong with them and found out Ariel got bitten in the head by an ant, Pocahontas got scratched by a lion, Belle smelled a stinky smell and had to lie down or she would die, and Jasmine's boobs were bleeding because she got kicked by a prince.

It was really funny when she yelled "Jasmine's boobs are bleeding" and James came running in from the kitchen in a panic! You couldn't pay for this kind of entertainment!

Ana's haircut

Ana decided she wanted to look like Mummy. That won't last many more years :)

Anyway, she was pushing to chop her hair off. Given the nightmare we have washing and brushing that thick mop, we didn't object too much. Even though her hair is to.die.for. we were ok with letting it go.

She LOVES her new look. She is so happy with it and loves to show it off. It is much easier to manage too!

36 weeks

Things are a happening. Without going into TMI my body is clearly gearing up for the main event.

Ever called the hospital because you weren't sure if your waters were leaking or you had pissed yourself? No? then you've never lived :)

Watch this space!

35 weeks - sucky sucky times in the Hutcholo household

Not much to report. James and I are stressed over a multitude of things; unpaid "maternity leave" being one of them. I am appalled how bad the leave policies are in this country. It is awful. This move to Mass has left us broke, so 6 weeks with no pay is hardly an option right now. Also the relentless winter continues, leaving us stuck in the house all day and missing work. Ana has had school cancelled 6 times because of severe snow, so I've had to stay home with her. It is hard to entertain a rambunctious 4 year old when you feel sick and tired and cannot get up off the floor.

We are both so down about many other things that I honestly do not know how we will cope adding a newborn to the mix. There isn't much worse for your mental health than sleep deprivation! Hopefully we'll be so over the moon with the baby that he'll cheer us all up. Hopefully!

Oh, and I'm enormous. Bigger than I was with Ana if that can be believed. My tummy is 46" around already, and I've gained over 40lb :( ughhhh.
