Singing

Not sure what this is. Clearly she watches too much Disney!

Is it just me or does she sound like she has a London accent when she says "Like a diamond in the sky"?

Conversations with princesses

Here is Ana talking to princesses on her cell phone:

"Hi Arora. Oh you cut your finger on a spinning wheel? That is NOT a good idea. That is NOT your spinning wheel, Arora. That is the witch's spinning wheel. It is a magic spell. The witch is NOT your friend."

"Hi Cinderella. Why do you drink? Oh your guests are here. Oh it is Snow-White's birthday. Did she brush her hair? Is she wagging her tail?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then with her magic wand she says...
(To Mummy): ZAP! You are a witch!
(To Daddy): ZAP! You are Fiona!
(To herself): ZAP! I am a pancake. I am breakfast. Do you want to eat me? EAT ME!!!
Gardening with Daddy
James and Ana has some gardning projects on the go. Ana's job is to water the plants, which she loves!!! The other day she walked out onto our deck and told me "I'm going to go and watch my flowers grow"
They have some marigolds, some ivy, some kind of plant Ana brought home from school (very cool, she potted it herself on Earth Day) and 3 tomato plants.
Wonderful weekend
We had such a busy weekend this weekend!!
Sat morning we got up early and met a few friends at the Children's Museum, then went and splashed about in the fountains at Centenial Olympic Park. Ana was a bit intimidated and didn't go in, but Cassie was fearless!!!!
The Gang
I was surprised Ana let a parrot sit on her arm.
I thought she would be scared but she really liked it!
Cassie (she really reminds me of Mia)
After the park we drove down to Pine Mountain to stay at Callaway Gardens. We checked into the hotel and went swimming in the hotel pool, which was amazing!! Then we went and got dinner in the hotel bar and played some pool. Ana played with her hands, and unsurprisingly won! Then she danced on the little dancefloor thay had. She has some killer moves - I really need to get her into dance lessons I think - she is a natural! Unfortunately I didn't have my camera for any of this!
View of the lake from our hotel
(this is the lake I swam across for my tri)
Apparently slides aren't just for kids!
The next morning I got up early and left Ana and James snoozing while I ran my triathlon. It was a perfect morning, there was a slight mist on the lake, and hundreds of people there to race. I really enjoyed it! Afterwards we went to the beach. Ana LOVED swimming in the lake and building sandcastles.
We were having such a good time we could have stayed there all day, but Ana started to look a little red so we had to leave. On the way home we went to a Safari and Ana got to feed some animals.
This was fun, except Ana was a little scared of the Water Buffolo because they were massive, and had huge slimey tongues. Amazingly she wasn't scared of this guy though!!
All in all, a great Father's Day Weekend!!
Don't tell me I am dealing with this already!
Ana has been walking around the past couple of days saying she is ugly. At first I was sure I must have misheard her!! What???
So finally I sat her down and asked what she was saying and she yelled "GIRLS ARE UGLY AND THEY ARE MEAN"
Grrrr. Wait until I find the little snot at daycare who has been telling her this.
So I was all concerned and telling her she was NOT ugly and that she was very beautiful. Then James suggested she didn't know the meaning. So I asked her "Ana, what does ugly mean?" and she replied "happy"
Awww, bless. So I told her then we are all ugly in this house!
Mean Girl
And in the true roller-coaster fashion that is the M.O. of toddlers, we move from the"Awwww" post below to today. Tuesday is Ana's water park day at school, and I told her I'd be there every Tuesday to see her swim. Well today I was rushing to complete about a million things I have to do before I leave for Texas tomorrow. Nevertheless, I managed to get to the waterpark. Ana immediately told me to "Go away" and proceeded to spend the rest of the time sulking, telling me to go home, telling me she was upset with me, telling me I was not her friend. Then after the water park she threw a fit when I tried to get her dressed. She was so naughty we ended up leaving with her partially dressed and tucked under my arm screeching. I was so upset on the way home I was nearly crying. Sometimes it sucks to be a parent :(
I'm sure I acted like this too, probably when I was old enough to know better. So to my parents, if you ever showed up to watch me do something and I acted like I wished you weren't there, I am sorry. Karma has come for me!
Silly Mummy
This morning we were rushing to school and I told Ana to "hop in the car". . .
She looked at me gravely and said "Oh nooo, Mummy. I can't hop into the car. That is dangerous. I could hurt my leg. I need to CLIMB into the car."
Awwwwww
We just went grocery shopping, all 3 of us, together. That doesn't often happen on account of the fact that James actually enjoys shopping, and I don't. Usually I am the list maker who gets to sit at home on her lazy ass, then criticize the shopper for getting the wrong kind of salt!
Anyway, today we all went. Ana was long overdue for a nap so I couldn't, in all fairness, let James take the animal to the store by himself. Amazingly, she was as good as gold the whole time. So I bribed her with a rice cake, whatever, she was still really good.
We got to the checkout and she was singing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and she earned herself a round of applause from the cashiers and other shoppers. Then, no doubt spurred on by the attention, she launched into "You Are My Sunshine" at top volume. She replaced the last part with
"... you'll never know dear, how much I love you
please don't take, my Mummy, away"
Oh my goodness! Everybody just melted and I was stood there welling up with tears at the checkout. How sweet!!!
