Big girl ponytail!

Ana has enough hair for a big girl ponytail! I love it! She looks like a mini-me!

Unfortunately it doesn't stay in for long before she pulls it out!

She was playing in the gym, as we do often. Usually she rolls basketballs around (side note.....she can nearly dribble). She also begs for basketball...she calls it beek ball!!! She will have a fit if we go to the gym and don't play "Beek ball". Anyway, Ana was stood on the treadmill looking at the girl on the treadmill next to her running and wondering why hers wasn't moving. I tried to explain that she would fall off if I started it but she insisted (by slapping her hand on the belt and trying to push it) so I put it on the lowest speed and held her hands while she walked. She got the hang of it fast so I let go of her hands and she ran! For a good 10 secs she ran!

Yay!

At the mall with Cami and Cassie

We met my friend Sarah and Cami and Cassie today for lunch! Cami is an Aug 06 baby like Ana, and Cassie is 8 weeks old!



Ana loved Cassie, although she was not to thrilled with me holding her!


She also loved to feed Cami - awww!

Why?

As I was picking a matchbox car up off the floor for the third time today (same car) I wondered....Why was my house never clean when I lived alone? I cannot imagine the luxury of putting something down and it staying put. Or finishing a meal and not having to scrape half of it up off the floor. Add in the fact that I had no animal fur collecting in the corners of my house, and no husband to drop his clothes on the bathroom floor or make more cups of tea than a roadside cafe (makes that is, not actually drinks...he drinks about 10% of the cups he makes) and I am stumped! Also I had no job (yeah Uni is technically "work" but we all know that is a ruse). Oh, and the coup de grace...there wasn't even the internet back then luring me in to waste copious amounts of time! What the hell did I do all day?

So, about that mother of the week award....

So this morning Ana and I were playing in her room and I took her nappy off ready to change her. She was running around playing with a toy car so I started reading a book (What to Expect the Toddler Years to be precise...I'm not THAT neglectful). A few min later she comes up to me looking all distressed going "oh no, oh no" so I said "what is it honey, do you want a hug?" She ignored my offer and ran off and grabbed a nappy then ran back and handed it to me. I said "Do you want your diaper on?" (US speak) and she nodded then she carried on saying "Oh no" and pointed at something behind me.

I turn to see what she is pointing at and I see a turd in the corner of the room. Poor thing had pooped on the floor and was panicking about it! She was so upset about it she wouldn't stop pointing until I had cleaned it up!!

Poor thing!!

Big girl bed

In the hopes of encouraging Ana to sleep more she got a big girl bed. So far she seems to really like playing in it and bouncing on it. Sleeping....not so much....but we will persist!


p.s. I think Ana looks a lot like Mel when she was a toddler in these pics!
