Well, the flight to England went really well. No tears!! No sleep either! Yep, our little no sleeper didn't catch any Z's. If you had told me before I left that I was embarking on 8.5 hours on a plane with an awake child I'd probably have backed out! But she was GREAT!! Really good.

We had a layover in Amsterdam...where sleep finally caught up with Ana! I swear, we didn't give her any drugs!


We finally made it to England a good 16 hours after leaving our house in Oxford.

Seats are booked, bags are (almost) packed, animals are taken care of, Ana is excited, Mummy is stressed, Daddy is quietly apprehensive, travel related arguments have commenced...

England here we come :)

When James decorates for Christmas

Ana has recently learned to prance about on her toes like a horse. This morning she was galloping about the kitchen saying "Look at me, I'm a horse" so I joined in and ran about saying "I'm a horse too". She stopped dead, pointed her finger at me, and said "No mummy, you a cow!"

I realise that if you don't have a 2 year old of your own, this will sound ridiculous....but I am SO impressed with Ana's colouring skills lately!

Exhibit A:

Notice how she is colouring each component distinctly, rather than scribbling all over the entire page? Obviously, I did the purple trim, but she did everything else!

See how she picked out different colours for different things? Green ears and face, red tail, etc. She is a genius I tell you!

Update: I had to come back and add that Ana clearly had the last laugh when she crapped in her pants at the Mall tonight! I had no change of clothes or wipes or anything with me!!

Oh and then she ran out of Kohls half dressed after escaping from the bathroom while I was cleaning her. The helpful sales lady tutted and rolled her eyes at me. Guess I don't feel so bad about leaving kid shit streaked all over their toilet then! Hope she had to clean it up!!
