Showing their respective personalities today

Ana is so sweet and kind and very sensitive. Today I was volunteering at her field day and they were playing a game where certain kids got "out" if their colour was rolled on the die, However, if black was rolled then all kids were back in the game. Ana was doing well and was one of only a few kids left in. I saw her clasp her hands together and mutter to herself. Then black was rolled and she jumped in the air. She ran up and whispered to me "I just prayed for black to be rolled". Sweet girl was actually praying for everyone to be back in the game, not for herself to win. She is her father's daughter alright!

Later that afternoon Isaac was playing with a baseball bat, and by playing with I mean trying to decapitate Ana and I. So I took his bat away from him, and braced myself for the ensuing meltdown. Amazingly, not a word from him. Congratulating myself on my good parenting and my co-operative son I turned my back and walked about 10ft away when BAM. Little bugger launched himself at me with a flying tackle. Both his feet off the ground, body practically horizontal, his shoulder hits the back of my knee and I buckled and fell down. He just looked at me like "yeah, that's what I thought". LOL!! He is his mother's son alright!

May

Well since life seems to be in the way of me blogging as often as I would like, I have decided to write monthly updates on us! Here is May :)

I borrowed James' car and discovered his 'air freshener'. No words.

Ana and Cami went to the Children's Museum and got their faces painted

We went down to Connecticut to see the family. Ana has soooooo much fun with her cousins! And now Isaac is old enough to join in the asction too. The older boys just love him. He spends most of his time running behind yelling "Hey Guys... wait for me... Hey Guys!"

Like most boys, Isaac likes to play guns. Here he is in a battle with Luke (who is wearing girls pyjamas because, well, because he is Luke!)

Good form little soldier

In other news Ana is about 15!

Isaac is looking more and more like his Dad. Booooo. I thought I had a shot with this one. He has my colouring at least. And temperament. And definitely athleticism. Kid can throw and catch a ball like nobody's business. Not a James trait!

One this Isaac most definitely gets from James is his big laugh. He throws his whole body into his laugh, tosses his head back, opens his mouth so big and just hoots with laughter. Love it. No-one can look at this and not want to smile!

The Cooneys have a puppy!! She is beautiful.... but I'm never getting a puppy. Too much energy!

Isaac LOVES to jump. Two footed. Everywhere he can. Off beds, couches, cushions. Anything.

 ^ There's the laugh again!

This kid loves, loves, loves basketball.

The weather FINALLY warmed up!

Look at yhe redness of Isaac's face, and it was only in the 70s.
Poor kid. He is English through and through!

So Ana and Mia have discovered facebooking each other. They talk for HOURS. Literally, they had a four and a half hour conversation the other day. Lord knows what they talk about, but the little bits we do catch are hilarious and so cute. Mia told Ana "In my school we always say we do our best.... but I don't".  And I love you to Mars... Well I love you to Mars plus $1000. Adorable!
The not adorable part is that even over FaceTime they each manage to make a holy mess. They drag out all their toys and clothes to show each other!

Isaac's box of "stuff". He drags it all around the place. I remember Ana doing a similar thing when she was this age.

Ana inexplicably covered herself in paint and declared herself a zombie vampire!

Mum had two work trips - to Toronto and Indiana. Daddy held down the fort like a champ (as always) and sent me this beautiful picture of the kids sleeping together in Isaac's tiny bed. They are such sweet siblings!

April 2013

2013 shall be known as the winter that would not die. We were actually wearing winter jackets all the way into April.

This April marked our 10 year wedding anniversary. We took the traditional photo. We're gonna have a tough time pulling this off next year....we're all out of fingers!

A sad event at the Boston marathon moved us during April. As local and as a runner I was shocked by the terrible events. A student at the College took it upon himself to run a marathon around our track (amazing) so Ana and I went to keep him company. Ana covered 4 miles on her scooter! I was so proud of her.
