Two

“Mom. Mom. Mom. MOM. MOM. MOOOOOOOOM”

“Yes”

“Hi”

Buddy, I love you to the ends of the earth, but you are a pain in the ass.  You are a total wrecking ball. I really don’t know how else to describe a kid who climbs on everything, pulls items out of the recycling and scatters them all over the floor, deliberately pours his milk on the furniture, draws on himself, the walls, and the dog, hides in the shower and tries to shave his head, throws the remote control and his shoes in the bin when we’re not looking. Fortunately you are also the sweetest little guy. You love to cuddle and hug, especially with your sister! When you are tired you play with our hair, twisting it around your finger until you doze off. Ana is really good to you with this, every time we are in the car you ask for her hair and she obligingly leans over so you and gives you her head. She has a doll with removable hair and she has tried giving you that so she can get a break, but it doesn’t work! Haha. At school you have a little friend called Maggie, and we hear the sweetest stories about you two. You hold hands, play together, and read together. At lunch Maggie tries to feed you, and at nap time you try to snuggle each other. The other day you had to be separated at nap time because you were messing about and apparently you lay on your mat yelling “MAGGIE. Whe’ ah you?”

Like most two year olds you are becoming so independent. We hear a lot of “I do it” or “by myself”. You are definitely hard headed (the word ‘defiant’ is used a lot). There is no telling you what to do. You have a killer scowl, it cracks everybody up. You look SO serious!  At the moment you are just learning to count, and you love to sing Wheels on the Bus. By far your biggest obsession though is basketball (even though you refer to it as soccer ball). When we pick Ana up from school you run into the gym and try to shoot a few hoops. Before we can leave I have to lift you high above my head so you can slam dunk. You are getting so big I won’t be doing that much longer. I’ll remember it though, and I’ll be bursting with pride when you are down there on the court scoring real slam dunks one day.

In short, you are cheeky and rambunctious, sensitive and curious, happy and loving, and you melt my heart every day. You are everything a little boy should be. I love you so much Little Buddy. Happy ‘two’ to you xx

Snow much fun

Well right now it feels like Spring will never arrive, but earlier in the year everyone was excited to see snow.  Isaac wasn't a fan, unfortunately, but it was still a good day out/ Ana and Cami had a blast!
