Hair Trauma

Ana's hair is so georgous and thick, but brushing it causes MAJOR drama! I'm almost ready to shave it off (ok, not really.......but maybe cut it).

This is what we encounter EVERY morning:  First I try to get her to co-operate by asking is she wants beautiful hair, letting her choose her hair bows, bribing her with treats, threatening her, sneaking up behind her while she is engrossed in watching Dora....all of which makes NO difference.  Then there is a chase. Then I catch her and pin her down and she starts wriggling and crying. Then James comes in to control her arms while I brush her hair.

One the deed is done we have

And snivelling things like "You don't love me"

So what do you think? Time to give her a Britney?

Chicks dig scars

Some nasty little yipper bit Briscoe on the nose a few weeks ago. He has a scar now :(  

But it is ok, Daddy says "Chicks dig scars"

Mum and Dad

We are now officially "Mum and Dad" - not Mummy and Daddy, or Mama and Dada, but plain old Mum and Dad.  

Ana says it with a little glint in her eye, like she thinks she is being cheeky or rebellious by calling us Mum and Dad. It is funny!

She also keeps asking for a sister, whom she has named Emily!  I have no idea where she got this from, as she has no friends called Emily and there are no kids at her school called Emily.  Anyway, she will be playing and will refer to her "Emily Sister"  E.g. "I love painting, I want to paint with my Emily sister"  or "She is my best friend, she is my Emily sister".

Needless to say, if she ever gets a sister (hint kid - try sleeping at night and maybe you'll get one) I think we will have no choice but to name her Emily!!

Six Year Anniversary!!

Anniversary/Easter Camping Trip

This weekend we went to Calhoun for a little getaway.  The weather didn't really co-operate, it was far colder than we expected, but otherwise we had a lot of fun!

Since it was chilly on the first day we took a trip to Rock City. We've been there once before, in Sept 07.  Ana was a lot smaller then!

This time around she walked herself, which gave us both grey hair because there are a lot of dangerous edges!

Nothing ruins a good family picture like a toddler picking her nose!

I'm pretty sure the highlight of Ana's trip was meeting the Easter Bunny. She loved this guy!!  

Someone had such a good time she didn't want to leave!

We were going to ride up the Incline Railway, but the queue was so long we just dressed Ana up lke a cowgirl in the gift shop and left!

When we got back from Rock City we  played a little mini-golf, went to the playground, and fed some goats!

On Sunday morning Ana joined the campground kids for an Easter egg hunt.  

She got progressively more dirty as the weekend went on!

Happy Easter

Ana came home from school with a basket full of Easter eggs today. I made the mistake of letting her hold on to them on the way home. After a period of unusual quiet I looked in the rear view mirror....
