We had such a great weekend. We went up to Roswell on Sat afternoon and stayed with Brad and Adriane at Adriane's parents' house. Roswell is really nice. We got dinner from a lovely French restaurant on Sat night. Mmmm. Wine, cheese and crepes! A great pre-race meal for triathletes! On Sunday morning Adriane and I went do to our race while the boys stayed home with the kiddos. Mimi's house is perfect for kids (she has 9 grandkids so LOTS of toys). She even had some relics saved from Adriane's childhood. I could not believe my eyes! It was like going back in time. Mel and I played with all the same toys while we were growing up!!

Jame and I got our hair cut yesterday. One of us paid $12 and one paid ten times that amount! Can you tell? Hee hee!

Are you kidding me?

So last month James signed up to run a 5k in Chattanooga with Jen and family on his birthday. I emphasize the words signed-up. Yeah, he did not run. The day of the race it was pouring down rain, and it was 7am, so he decided to stay in bed. To be fair he did have a bad cold, but whatever! Jen went and Rodger went with with her to run in James' place, since it was already paid for. Well, wouldn't you know, Rodger won James' age division (even though he is older - what a rock star). Anyway, we laughed, and forgot about it.

In case you cannot tell, that is a framed award with an aerial photograph of the race route. Are you kidding me?? Last week I won a canvas bag!!

Needless to say we shall be shipping this award to Rodger first thing in the morning :)

Mia loves to watch Ana on the blog, so we are going to start a weekly Message to Mia post!

It makes me so sad that Ana and Mia aren't growing up together than I can hardly stand it, but hopefully this will help keep them in touch! Mia is learning to talk so hopefully it won't be long before she can send some messages back!

Ana Runs!

We went to Athens today and Ana ran in her first race! Unfortunately she did not finish (she wanted to come back and find me), but she got a medal anyway! So cute!

Mummy ran a 5k and it was 85 degrees - a SIXTY degree difference from last weekend - and also very, very hilly, so I was pretty miserable the whole way! I ran a whole 1:20 slower than I ran in the blizzard. I really do not like the heat!

I still managed to win my age group, and my prize was a TOTE BAG! I kid you not...an old lady canvas tote bag. Yay! Go me! *eye roll*


However, it was totally worth going just to get a picture of this tool



After the run we went to a park and a nature habitat with Todd and his kids. It was fun, although Ana was not feeling too good for most of the day. She had a tummy ache :(

She still managed to fit in a little swinging and sliding though.

This weekend we went up to Chattanooga to see Jen and her family, and to celebrate James' birthday weekend! A great time was had by all!!

They had an area for face paints. I painted Ana a lion face. James wanted to be something funny like a clown. Unfortunately my clown turned out like a maniacal Joker! We we laughed and laughed until we cried!


Unfortunately children were getting scared and parents were horrified so the evil clown saw the error of his ways and cleaned off his face. But not before I pointed at him and loudly yelled "Who is this freak? Does this man even have a child here?" Mwahaha!!
