Baltimore 1 Hutcholos 0

Just got back from a family holiday to Baltimore. Now, Baltimore would not be our first choice of holidays but I had a conference to attend there so the hotel was paid for so we thought it would be nice for James and Ana to come along. Well, we thought it would be nice back when we booked it way before any of the recent life changes happened! We didn't anticipate this falling at a time when we would be house selling, job hunting, trying to save money, etc.

We had a house showing right before we left and an open house while we were gone so we were working on the house like mad up to the last minute. During the course of the this I also got a huge migraine that lasted 2 days. Then James got bit by a tic at the airport as we were leaving. He is highly allergic so his leg swelled up elephant man style meaning he could barely walk for much of the trip. Also I have a cracked molar that is so beyond painful that I have a choice of 2 states of being: (1) high as a kite on narcotics, or (2) in agony. I have been waiting to get it treated. Between my recent travel schedule and my dentist having to be put on bed rest I have not been able to get treated! Ughh! Throw into this minor annoyances like it pissing down on us and our bags when we arrived, being cooped up in a hotel room, having to eat out for EVERY meal (if you have a 3 year old you know how much fun that is), Baltimore having some kind of freek heatwave, the hotel coffee shop closing at 10am (WTF), and God knows whatever else I have blocked out and we have some unhappy campers.

But Ana had a blast! And I guess that makes it all worthwhile. It was good to spend time together, even it it was miserable, at least we were together more than we usually are :)

Ana got to go to the Children's museum, the Science museum, ride dragon paddle boats on the harbour, on a submarine, a big ship, for ice cream, and to Washington DC. She was very disappointed she did not get to see Obama. We had to tell her he wasn't home when she went to the Whitehouse.

I'll upload pics when my head stops pounding!
